The Nappy Tour 2018
We returned to Uganda to provide workshops to the artist entrepreneurs at the Kafeero Foundation and for the Back to the Source Conference, to be interviewed and perform with local artist Apio Moro at KQ Hub, and to hit the studio with brother Babaluku of the Bavubuka Foundation to record.
We had some amazing interviews and shows while traveling across Kenya to Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Bofa. We interviewed on KUTV, K24TV, KBC English Service and People Daily Newspaper. We also had some great live performance at Distant Relatives Lodge, So Far Nairobi and DagoZ Artist Bar. And last but not least, we had the honor of sitting down with Wanjira Mathai, daughter of late activist and founder of the Green Belt Movement Wangari Maathai.
We don’t have many photos from Tanzania because they are in a film called “Blue, Black & Green” that is currently traveling with the Climate Action Summit until January 2019. We had a blast though, spending time at the UAACC with Mama Charlotte O’Neal recording music and jamming together. We also interviewed her for “Blue, Black & Green” and filmed the last scene for my single “Sand” that is also featured in the film. Stay tuned for information about the public release date.
